The simplest paleo dish: a tartar steak. Calls for quality (and usually low fat) minced meat and is totally RAW. May be seasoned according to taste. Also pretty civilized, so if you wanna be a posh cave(wo)man, try this.
Steak Tartar
- minced meat (preferably low in fat, this time)
- salt
- pepper
- (optional: an egg yolk, worcestershire sauce, minced onion)
Season the meat and mix well by hand. Add egg yolk or other ingredients if you prefer, I just stuck with this very basic stuff. Form into a patty and eat away! Soooo sophisticated.
Some people suggest sides such as
- pickles
- raw onion
- anchovy
- olives
- pickled onion
- capers

I love raw meat. I usually just secretly eat it out of the package by hand. I prefer organic but have taken my chances and have never had a food poisoning from my naughty habit. By the way the steak tartar should be minced twice using a fork and filet mignon is the way to go. But now I’m just being flashy.

Voe mahoton paikka! Raakoo lihhoo, kaekkee sitä näkköö kun tiällä ellää! =D Ei vaan, enpäs koskaan oo maistanut raakaa lihaa sillon kun lihaa söin. Mielenkiintoista, indeed 🙂

I too love it! I always end up eating half of the meatball or burger dough 😀 So I thought, why not make tartars to begin with… 😛 And yes you’re correct, should be using flashy filet mignon. But it’s the supersaver model! And I try only eating organic meat, especially when raw. Do you have some special additions in your raw meat or tartars?
CHaos, maistappa on meinaan melekosen maukasta! Et uskois 😀 Itekään en aiemmin olis koskenutkaan ja sittemmin olin 13 vuotta ilman punaista lihaa, nykyään en MILLÄÄN luopuis. EN MILLÄÄN!!!++!! ;-D
